Navy Wool Main House Curtains and Valance for John Edmondson High School

Phantos has provided main house curtains and valance for the auditorium stage of John Edmondson High School. The school which is situated in the suburb of Horningsea Park, focuses on quality teaching and learning. They have a performance stage to showcase the students’ art talents. We have beautified this stage with wool curtains along with valance.

We have used IFR 550g/sq m wool serge fabric of navy colour for main house curtains for John Edmondson High School. Heavy wool fabric has excellent acoustic elements providing adequate sound absorption. IFR or Inherently Flame Retardant refers to fabrics that are woven with naturally flame resistant fibers. The fabric has 50% fullness. Using one and a half as many widths of the fabric used in a flat curtain yields a curtain with 50% fullness. Fullness provides a drape with a richer look and it provides more light and sound absorption.

There is a hem provided both at the bottom of the curtain as well as at the sides. The design of the curtains has knife pleats. Knife pleats are formed by gathering, folding, and sewing down the fabric in single folds. This gives a crisper look than shirring and it distributes the fullness evenly across the width of the drape. Webbing is used to finish the top of stage curtains. We have used 50mm 25 eyelets on each panel on the top webbing.

We have also provided valance on the curtains. Valances are installed over the top of curtains on a curtain or drapery rod, and help to add texture and depth to a room.
